Immersive mushroom hunting game

Morels: The Hunt is an adventure game created by Abrams Studios. As the name implies, this is a hunting game that will take you to the wilds of the continental United States. However, you won't be hunting for animals but mushrooms—morels, to be exact.

Top Recommended Alternative

Morels: The Hunt will let you hunt for mushrooms from sunrise to sunset. You also have 100 days to collect as many things as you can to earn points to unlock new locations. Note, however, that the morels are fairly small and difficult to spot. Not only that, but the wilds can be dangerous.

Become a mushroom hunter

Morels: The Hunt is a relaxing adventure game involving hunting for mushrooms and photography. Here, you will hunt for morsels in the wilderness of continental United States. You have 100 days to collect as many mushrooms as you can. More than morsels, you can also collect other types of mushrooms for more points. However, some of the mushrooms can be hard to spot.

Initially, you will hunt for mushrooms on foot, but as you gain money, you can buy an ATV to cover more distance. Unfortunately, the ATV is the most expensive item in the store. To help you get more money, you can also engage in nature photography using your classic Polaroid camera. Each shot will earn you points. If you are lucky, you can make discoveries and earn a newspaper headline.

The game offers an immersive experience for the players. The entire game captured the beauty of the wild, from the full towering trees, babbling brooks, and vibrant greenery. Players even have to be wary of the dangers of nature, including poison ivy and ticks. The map is also too large that you'll find yourself disoriented. Unfortunately, there is no compass available.

For nature lovers

All in all, Morels: The Hunt is a nature lover's dream. It has a simple, if not unique, gameplay of hunting mushrooms. Its true highlight is its environment, especially with how lush and detailed they are. However, although the wilds are visually captured, the sound and even animal behavior are not that believable. Moreover, its lack of action may bore some players.
